Jordi Sinclair created his blog Thirty Something London<\/a> after experiencing a breakup. Known in the dating community for its connection with Smudged Lipstick Events (which Jordi founded after quitting his job as Head of Marketing and PR), Thirty Something London provides practical date ideas, discussions around trending dating topics, to embracing single life. In this spotlight Jordi, who recently featured on our top ten relationships ranking<\/a> chats to us about what encouraged him to start blogging, what makes it different from its competitors, and how he defines the success of\u00a0Thirty Something London. \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Relationships can be a complicated topic, what encouraged you to start a blogging about this?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>I’d just gone through a horrible breakup and I wanted to show everybody that men go through a lot of the same things when it comes to dating and relationships.<\/p>\n

Do you find that writing a dating blog encourages people to come to you for advice?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Absolutely. I get many people men and women asking for all kinds of advice.<\/p>\n

What do you think makes your blog different to your competitors?<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0Many things. Firstly, it’s not a dating diary like a lot of blogs where it’s solely\u00a0talking about individual dates. I also made a point of not being anonymous – I want people to know who I am and feel that they can relate to every part of me.<\/p>\n

How do you define the success of your blog? Do you do this through the level of engagement with your audience or unique visits?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Engagement with the audience. I always kept the same level of engagement whether I was starting out and writing for one person or now where I’m writing for thousands.<\/p>\n

What has been your experience with working with PRs and marketers?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I guess it’s a mixed bag. Some are absolutely amazing and have actually become good friends. Others…well…let’s not go there.<\/p>\n

How much planning, research and preparation do you need to execute your content marketing plan?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Quite a lot. I’ve always been quite meticulous with my content planning. Scheduling is a big thing too, making sure there’s a consistency in when you post also helps you structure your week a lot better.<\/p>\n

How do you keep your content fresh and up to date with current dating trends?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I’m always looking at what’s in the press with various content trackers, but in terms of the blog I always keep it\u00a0relevant and\u00a0personal. It’s easy to go\u00a0off track or write something similar to someone else just for the sake of it, but if I don’t feel comfortable writing about it – won’t.<\/p>\n

What kinds of PRs or campaigns are you interested in working on in the future?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Anything fun and relevant to the dating, sex and relationship industry always tends to be interesting.<\/p>\n

What are your thoughts on media databases, such as\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Vuelio?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Great. It lets companies find us a lot easier. Plus, being on a reputable one like Vuelio gives brands confidence in contacting us.<\/p>\n

Do you have a funny dating story you could share with us?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Where do I start? There was a girl on the third date who gave me a “happiness box” with all of our happy memories from the first two dates. No, that didn’t last.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
