Bell Pottinger<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>The troubled PR giant is having a terrible week. James Henderson, CEO, resigned on Sunday. The PRCA banned the company from having membership for five years on Monday. Chime, Bell Pottinger\u2019s second biggest investor with a 27% stake, gave up trying to sell its shares and instead gave them back to the company on Tuesday. Clients have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/business\/news\/bell-pottinger-prca-lose-major-clients-gupta-family-south-africa-racism-pr-stripped-membership-a7931621.html\" target=\"_blank\">reportedly<\/a> cut ties, there are <a href=\"http:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/disgraced-pr-firm-bell-pottinger-on-brink-of-administration-11024402\" target=\"_blank\">rumours<\/a> it will go into administration early next week, and the Asian arm of the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/e2fbfa32-944e-11e7-bdfa-eda243196c2c\" target=\"_blank\">today announced<\/a> its separation to continue operating but under a new name: Klareco Communication.<\/p>\n<p>The outlook is bleak. But bleak is Bell Pottinger\u2019s speciality and it\u2019s not over yet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>2. This year, the Vuelio Bloggers Survey has revealed that the blogging industry is professionalising with more individuals relying on their blogs as their main source of income and a rise in those who wish to do so in future.<\/p>\n<p>Other key points include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>13% don\u2019t think disclosure of all collaboration is important<\/li>\n<li>75% having good relationships with PRs (though this varies depending on the category; parenting leads the way with 85% while political scrapes just 17%)<\/li>\n<li>58% expect to be paid for all the coverage they give a brand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/uk-bloggers-survey\/?clid=blogpost\" target=\"_blank\">Download the survey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>3. The list includes past winners and new entries, as the burgeoning industry continues to create original stars. There are also new categories for 2017, including Best Newcomer \u2013 the first Vuelio award to be self-nominated.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog-awards\/judges\/\">Judges<\/a> will be choosing overall winners on 18 September ahead of the Awards night on 24 November \u2013 this year to be held at the fabulous Bloomsbury Big Top. John Motson, the voice of BBC football commentary for 50 years, has said the current football season will be his last. Motty has commented at 10 World Cups, 10 European Championships, 29 FA Cup finals and more than 200 England games.<\/p>\n<p>Across the pond, Vanity Fair\u2019s editor-in-chief Graydon Carter, is to leave the publication in December. Throughout his 25 years in charge, Graydon has steered the magazine to a host of award wins with his mix of investigative stories and celebrity interviews. He said: \u2018I&#8217;ve loved every moment of my time here and I&#8217;ve pretty much accomplished everything I&#8217;ve ever wanted to do.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">5. Billboard branding<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Innovative use of billboards is nothing new, but two giants of the technology world have this week made the most of these traditional advertising mediums. In New York and Los Angeles, Netflix has gone guerrilla with plain boards and the words \u2018Netflix is a joke.\u2019 While its <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/netflix\/status\/905244989638156289\">own Twitter response<\/a> somewhat spoilt the illusion, Netflix\u2019s campaign for new comedy material has still managed to confuse passers-by.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Who&#8217;s behind this billboard??? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qVZAIAeB4r\">pic.twitter.com\/qVZAIAeB4r<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Claudia Eller (@Variety_Claudia) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Variety_Claudia\/status\/905161532907991040\">September 5, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Here in the UK, O2 made headlines for its creative use of \u2018broken\u2019 billboards to advertise its free screen replacement service.
