Lucy\u2019s blog documents her love of baking as well as her love of her slow cooker, which she uses to make a variety of recipes. We spoke to Lucy about pinnable content, the Great British Bake Off and working with PRs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">How would you describe your blog?<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>On my blog I share baking recipes, as I love to bake and try out new baking\u00a0techniques,\u00a0and also slow cooker dishes that I make for my family. I love to develop recipes based on what I have in my cupboards but with loads of flavour.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-109086\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/blackberry-oaty-traybake-1.jpg\" alt=\"BakingQueen74\" width=\"400\" height=\"528\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/blackberry-oaty-traybake-1.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/blackberry-oaty-traybake-1-227x300.jpg 227w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>What<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">s the best thing about being a baking blogger?<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>Sharing what I make with my family and friends at work, and seeing that people have made and loved my recipes (through comments on Facebook or Pinterest) is lovely.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">How much does Great British Bake Off affect your blog?<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>In the past two or three years, I baked along every week with the themes of the show but this year I am having building done at home and haven&#8217;t had a kitchen for a while and haven&#8217;t been able to follow along which is a shame. It has been good for my waistline though!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>What<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">s your favourite bake to make?<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>I really love simple\u00a0oat-based bakes like flapjacks,\u00a0and my <a href=\"https:\/\/bakingqueen74.co.uk\/blackberry-oaty-traybake\/\" target=\"_blank\">blackberry oaty traybake cake<\/a> is a real favourite.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>What<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><strong>s the best bake you<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">ve ever eaten?<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>I&#8217;m really not sure, but it was\u00a0probably a souffle I had at La Trompette in Chiswick, which was amazing!<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">What makes your blog successful?<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>I find that creating content that others will want to share and save for future reference is the key, and making great pinnable content for Pinterest.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">How do you like to work with PRs?<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>By developing recipes for brands using their products and ingredients, it means I try new things and am always planning different kinds of recipes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>What<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><strong>s a memorable campaign you<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">ve worked on?<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>I particularly liked making a <a href=\"https:\/\/bakingqueen74.co.uk\/autumnal-caramel-apple-roulade\/\" target=\"_blank\">caramel apple roulade<\/a> recipe to showcase a stand mixer for ao.com.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">What one thing should PRs know about you?<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>I blog in my free time alongside my work as a translation project manager and as a mum of two, so I am often not able\u00a0to respond to emails immediately\u00a0during the working day.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">What other blogs do you read?<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>Loads of the top\u00a0UK food blogs,\u00a0particular favourites in baking include <a href=\"http:\/\/domesticgothess.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Domestic Gothess<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supergoldenbakes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Supergolden Bakes<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patisseriemakesperfect.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Patisserie Makes Perfect<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/veggiedesserts.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Veggie Desserts<\/a>.
