As ever with change, the new look, masthead, colour scheme, font and size has divided the public, with some believing the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tzb\/status\/952866218125426690\">it really works<\/a>, while others think the Guardian has <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoshDixonTweets\/status\/952867803698262017\">stepped back in time<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The redesign is part of an ongoing cost-cutting exercise at the paper,\u00a0in an attempt to reduce\u00a0significant losses; The Guardian plans to break even in 2018\/19. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pressgazette.co.uk\/guardian-says-new-tabloid-format-important-milestone-in-turning-finances-around\/\" target=\"_blank\">As reported in Press Gazette<\/a>, the new-look also spells the end of regular columns from Paul Mason, Deborah Orr and Giles Fraser.<\/p>\n<p>The Guardian has, itself,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/media\/2018\/jan\/15\/the-guardians-new-look-rivals-and-friends-respond\">curated<\/a> reactions from the media industry, including The Daily Telegraph\u2019s masthead now <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DannyBoyle87\/status\/952670870262120448\">including<\/a> \u2018Britain\u2019s biggest &amp; best quality paper\u2019, and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/danwootton\/status\/952655330860847106\">The Sun\u2019s<\/a> \u2018\u00a31.50 less than tabloid Guardian\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Over on Twitter, a big concern is that the redesign has made the paper too similar to other publications; whether that\u2019s The Times\u2019 Twitter profile pic:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">(gah the guardian and times now look the same scrolling through a twitter feed) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/x06sJpudWi\">pic.twitter.com\/x06sJpudWi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mark Di Stefano ??
