{"id":11478,"date":"2012-09-18T09:42:51","date_gmt":"2012-09-18T08:42:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=11478"},"modified":"2012-09-18T09:42:51","modified_gmt":"2012-09-18T09:42:51","slug":"audioboo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/audioboo\/","title":{"rendered":"Journalist tools: Audioboo"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>A social media website which allows you to share audio recorded from your phone or computer seems to be the next step in handy journalism tools.<\/h2>\n<p>This morning I have already clicked two links which took me to <a href=\"http:\/\/audioboo.fm\/\">Audioboo<\/a>:\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/audioboo.fm\/boos\/965163-spelling-messed-up-by-the-french\">first<\/a> an extract from Radio 4\u2019s <em>Today<\/em> programme; the <a href=\"http:\/\/audioboo.fm\/boos\/965174-yes-another-mobile-phone-launch\">second<\/a> a short piece from <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/ruskin147\">Rory\u00a0 Cellan-Jones<\/a> at a new mobile phone launch. The BBC is obviously keen, but in just those two clips we can see the diversity of this new social media tool.<\/p>\n<p>Journalism is increasingly immediate, as on demand services become more prevalent audiences want content now, or even earlier if possible. Audioboo seems to provide a way to this content which Twitter doesn\u2019t allow in 140 characters and Facebook has never managed.<\/p>\n<p>Audioboo allows you to record content or upload pre-recorded material, attach a picture and location tag and share it across social media platforms. The site also allows you to search recent, popular or nearby \u2018boos\u2019 and create a network of people whose boos you wish to follow.<\/p>\n<p>How rapidly this will grow and its longevity in a time of social media fatigue is questionable, but for now journalism has found a new toy and it comes with its own group of silly verbs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A social media website which allows you to share audio recorded from your phone or computer seems to be the next step in handy journalism tools.
