Vote Leave campaign expected to be found guilty of breaking electoral law<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The BBC\u00a0says<\/a>\u00a0that it has been told that the Vote Leave campaign is expected to be found guilty of four charges of breaking electoral law. A draft of an investigation by the Electoral Commission concludes that the Brexit campaign broke spending limits and failed to obey campaign rules, but former Vote Leave chief executive Matthew Elliot has denied the claims.<\/p>\n

Hammond to warn of hard Brexit dangers at Cabinet summit<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The Times<\/em>\u00a0alleges<\/a>\u00a0that Theresa May has asked Chancellor Philip Hammond and Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Secretary Greg Clark to warn of the dangers of a hard Brexit for tax revenues and businesses when the Cabinet meets on Friday.\u00a0According<\/a> to\u00a0The Daily Telegraph<\/em>, May is set to face an \u2018almighty row\u2019 with Eurosceptic ministers, with a source telling the paper her plans were \u2018a fiction designed to keep us in the EU and single market\u2019. The\u00a0Financial Times<\/em>\u00a0adds<\/a>\u00a0that May is \u2018pleading\u2019 with EU leaders not to reject her proposal, with an EU diplomat telling the paper she didn\u2019t \u2018want to be fighting on two fronts\u2019.<\/p>\n

Gove sets out post-Brexit fishing plans<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The Daily Telegraph<\/em>\u00a0reports<\/a>\u00a0that Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Secretary Michael Gove is to set out his post-Brexit fishing plans in a white paper today. The proposals would see the UK own the sea and the fish it contains for up to 200 miles from the coast, with a \u2018zonal attachment\u2019 scheme based on the distribution of fish stocks replacing EU quotas.<\/p>\n

Unite says it is \u2018open to the possibility\u2019 of a vote on the Brexit deal<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The Guardian<\/em>\u00a0says<\/a>\u00a0that Unite has issued a statement at its conference, claiming that it is \u2018highly unlikely\u2019 that Labour will back Theresa May\u2019s Brexit deal in parliament. The union also reveals that it is \u2018open to the possibility\u2019 of a public vote being held on the deal. The paper suggests that this \u2018could increase pressure on Jeremy Corbyn\u2019 to follow suit.<\/p>\n

NHS may offer medical cannabis \u2018within weeks\u2019<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The Times<\/em>\u00a0claims<\/a>\u00a0that medicinal cannabis may be available from the NHS \u2018within weeks\u2019, following a review by Dame Sally Davies, the Chief Medical Officer. Her report said that current controls on the drug were \u2018very difficult to defend\u2019. A further report on rescheduling the drug will now be produced by the advisory council for the misuse of drugs.<\/p>\n

Home Office forced immigrants to take DNA tests<\/span>
\n<\/strong>According<\/a>\u00a0to the\u00a0Financial Times<\/em>, the Home Office has admitted that it forced some foreign parents of British children seeking to remain in the UK to take DNA tests, despite this contravening the department\u2019s own policy. After the paper informed the Home Office of the cases, immigration minister Caroline Nokes ordered an urgent review.<\/p>\n

Corbyn tells Unite conference Labour is \u2018the political voice of the working class\u2019<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The Mirror<\/em>\u00a0reports<\/a>\u00a0that Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn told Unite\u2019s policy conference that \u2018Labour is back as the political voice of the working class\u2019. He said that more needed to be done to \u2018give a real voice to working class communities who feel they aren\u2019t heard in politics\u2019 and accused the Conservatives of \u2018posturing\u2019 over Brexit, putting jobs at risk.<\/p>\n

Reports warn of Brexit\u2019s regional economic impact<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The Guardian<\/em>\u00a0says<\/a>\u00a0that two reports have found that Brexit will make people outside London worse off. Analysis by the Institute for Public Policy Research warns that households outside the capital will be disproportionately affected by price rises in the event of a hard Brexit. Research by Oliver Wyman found that poor areas would be worst hit as households spend a greater proportion of their income on weekly shopping and transport.<\/p>\n
