Sir Graham Brady, chair of the 1922 Committee, has confirmed that the vote will be held tonight. The paper\u00a0adds<\/a>\u00a0that former cabinet minister Owen Paterson put in a letter of no confidence last night, in which he claimed that the Prime Minister\u2019s Brexit deal was \u2018bad\u2019 and a \u2018betrayal of clear manifesto promises\u2019, which treated Brexit as a \u2018problem to be solved rather than an exciting opportunity to be grasped\u2019.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>The Guardian<\/em>\u00a0carries<\/a>\u00a0details of research by Britain Thinks, which finds that people are becoming more pessimistic about the state of the UK\u2019s negotiations to leave the EU, including \u2018die hard leavers\u2019. Little consensus on the best way forward emerged from the research, with negative opinions of May\u2019s deal and a dip in support for another referendum.<\/p>\n

The change of plan followed the receipt of a letter from immigration lawyers which warned that suspending the Tier 1 investor visa was illegal.<\/p>\n
