This is because the motion tabled by the Prime Minister backs the views expressed by MPs in their last Brexit vote, including ruling out a no-deal Brexit. The deputy chairman of the European Research Group of Eurosceptic MPs said that its members had \u2018pleaded\u2019 for the wording to be changed\u2019 and they could not back the motion as it \u2018removes our negotiating leverage\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>McDonnell calls Churchill a \u2018villain\u2019<br \/>\n<\/strong>Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell has caused controversy after he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/labours-john-mcdonnell-churchill-was-a-villain\/?utm_campaign=Political%20Services%20Publications%202019&amp;utm_source=hs_email&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_7ceyrsUeNTgax6o9xFmCNBkGX5hSqMv2F8oukhoEQDkBcJBFO5s6qXwUToxmWlzS1PbUp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-hs-link-id=\"0\">told<\/a>\u00a0<em>Politico<\/em>\u00a0that Winston Churchill was a \u2018villain\u2019, citing his role in sending troops into the Tonypandy riots.
