Migrants won\u2019t be allowed to \u2018cut ahead in the queue\u2019 by taking jobs which could be done by British workers and won\u2019t be entitled to benefits when they first arrive in the UK. He also called for the country to be \u2018much more open\u2019 to highly-skilled immigrants, but didn\u2019t say what his immigration target would be as he wanted to consult the Migration Advisory Committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social care bosses warn that services may be cut<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>The Guardian<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/society\/2019\/jun\/26\/social-care-funding-crisis-putting-tens-of-thousands-at-risk?utm_campaign=Political%20Services%20Publications%202019&amp;utm_source=hs_email&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;_hsenc=p2ANqtz-9eQhPbuNnsaHzg6Wf6vPh3LePaE8TYwZhwE5OXK7EjQiGNhCu8pxOXLADP_vgjjwJngV9-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-hs-link-id=\"0\">carries details<\/a>\u00a0of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services\u2019 annual survey, which warns that the social care system is \u2018not only failing financially, it is failing people\u2019, putting them at risk of being denied basic support. Without urgent funding guarantees, local authorities might have to start decommissioning services this autumn.
