{"id":123480,"date":"2019-07-11T09:55:49","date_gmt":"2019-07-11T08:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=123480"},"modified":"2019-07-11T09:55:49","modified_gmt":"2019-07-11T08:55:49","slug":"an-introduction-to-ai-in-pr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/an-introduction-to-ai-in-pr\/","title":{"rendered":"An introduction to AI in PR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The CIPR\u2019s #AIinPR Panel has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cipr.co.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/Intro_to_AI.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">An introduction to AI in PR<\/a> as the first in a series of skills guides.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The guide, written by Jean Valin, covers the threats and opportunities for public relations and includes as a glossary of common terms that are used around artificial intelligence and machine learning.<\/p>\n<p>Valin also highlights incredible statistics to show how recent years have seen an explosion of data:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More data has been created in the past two years than in the entire previous history of the human race<\/li>\n<li>Data is growing faster than ever before and by the year 2020, about 1.7 megabytes of new information will be created every second for every human being on the planet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The seven-page guide is the first resource from the CIPR&#8217;s new #AIinPR Primer series &#8211; a collection of guides designed to equip practitioners with a fundamental understanding of the implications of AI for PR.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Waddington, CIPR Artificial Intelligence Panel Chair, said: \u2018It\u2019s too early to identify best practice for AI communication. Practitioners need to step up and take personal responsibility for their own learning and development. The skills guides from the #AIinPR panel are a good start. My thanks to the panel members for their work.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The Panel will publish further skills guides this month on <em>AI and data ethics<\/em> and <em>AI and data ethics \u2013 consequences for PR<\/em>, both by Ben Verinder.
