Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade Liz Truss<\/strong> has been appointed<\/a> to the role of Minister for Women and Equalities following the resignation of Amber Rudd.<\/p>\n

Minister of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Zac Goldsmith<\/strong> will now attend Cabinet.<\/p>\n

Chris Skidmore<\/strong> has been appointed<\/a> Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation following the resignation of Jo Johnson.<\/p>\n

Edward Argar<\/strong> has been appointed Minister of State at the Department of Health and Social Care (the position Skidmore left for his new position).<\/p>\n

Chris Philp<\/strong> has been appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice (the position Argar left for his new position).<\/p>\n

Rebecca Pow<\/strong> has been appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.<\/p>\n

Helen Whately<\/strong> has been appointed Minister for Arts, Heritage and Tourism at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (the position Pow left for her new position).<\/p>\n

Amber Rudd <\/strong>has resigned<\/a> from her role as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.<\/p>\n

Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Coffey<\/strong> has been appointed<\/a> as the new Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, following the resignation of Amber Rudd MP. Coffey was previously Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Environment.<\/p>\n

Jo Johnson<\/strong> has resigned<\/a> from his role as Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation.<\/p>\n

Caroline Rookes<\/strong> has been appointed<\/a> interim Chair of the Pensions Ombudsman.<\/p>\n

Michelle Donelan<\/strong> was appointed<\/a> as an unpaid Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Education (Minister for Children and Families) while Kemi Badenoch is on maternity leave.<\/p>\n

Margaret Edwards<\/strong> has been re-appointed<\/a> as the Non-executive Chair of the Civil Service Pension Board.<\/p>\n

Susannah Storey<\/strong> has taken up her role<\/a> as Director-General of Digital and Media. She was previously Director-General at the Department for Exiting the European Union.<\/p>\n

House of Commons<\/h3>\n

John Bercow<\/strong> has announced<\/a> he will step down from his role of Speaker of the House of Commons either on 31 October or at the next election \u2013 whichever comes first.<\/p>\n

Amber Rudd <\/strong>has resigned<\/a> the Conservative Whip; she now stands as an independent.<\/p>\n

Jo Johnson<\/strong> has announced<\/a> he will not be standing for the seat of Orpington in the next election.<\/p>\n

MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge Angela Smith<\/strong> has announced<\/a> she has joined the Liberal Democrats. Smith was sitting as an Independent MP before the announcement she has previously sat for Labour and Change UK in the seat. Smith has been MP for the seat since 2010.<\/p>\n

Luciana Berger<\/strong> \u2013 elected as Labour, sitting as an independent \u2013 has joined<\/a> the Liberal Democrats.<\/p>\n

Phillip Lee<\/strong> has left the Conservative Party and joined<\/a> the Lib Dems.<\/p>\n

John Mann<\/strong>, the Labour MP for Bassetlaw, has announced his resignation<\/a> as an MP in order to concentrate on his role as the Government’s independent adviser on antisemitism.<\/p>\n

Alistair Burt, Anne Milton<\/strong>, Antoinette Sandbach<\/strong>, Caroline Nokes<\/strong>, David Gauke<\/strong>, Dominic Grieve<\/strong>, Ed Vaizey<\/strong>, Greg Clark<\/strong>, Guto Bebb<\/strong>, Justine Greening<\/strong>, Ken Clarke<\/strong>, Margot James<\/strong>, Nicholas Soames<\/strong>, Oliver Letwin,<\/strong> Philip Hammond<\/strong>, Richard Benyon<\/strong>, Richard Harrington<\/strong>, Rory Stewart<\/strong>, Sam Gyimah<\/strong>, Stephen Hammond<\/strong> and Steve Brine<\/strong> have had the Conservative Whip removed<\/a> and now sit as independents.<\/p>\n
