{"id":134553,"date":"2021-02-24T14:25:07","date_gmt":"2021-02-24T13:25:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=134553"},"modified":"2021-02-24T14:25:07","modified_gmt":"2021-02-24T13:25:07","slug":"global-women-in-pr-to-hold-24-hour-mentoring-event-for-international-womens-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/global-women-in-pr-to-hold-24-hour-mentoring-event-for-international-womens-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Women in PR to hold 24-hour mentoring event for International Women\u2019s Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Global Women in PR will celebrate International Women\u2019s Day on Monday 8 March with 24 hours of live speed mentoring. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over 100 GWPR members, including senior-level practitioners across the global PR and communications industry, will provide advice and guidance in 30-minute sessions with over 200 mid-career PR women.<\/p>\n<p>Those with a minimum of five years of experience in PR are invited to participate as mentees and can apply by completing <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/XUV82pNfUZcGCnCPA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The response to this initiative has exceeded all our expectations,\u2019 said GWPR International Chair Cornelia Kunze. \u2018So many women working in senior roles in PR and Communications from all over the world have come forward to support us \u2013 it has been incredible. It clearly demonstrates that there is a real passion to redress the balance in leadership in the PR industry and we are now motivated to follow up this IWD mentoring activity with an ongoing international mentoring programme.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/global-women-in-pr-reveals-results-from-its-annual-index\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GWPR\u2019s 2020 survey<\/a> found that the most important way to break down barriers for women in PR \u2013 who make up two-thirds of the industry, yet are under-represented in boardrooms \u2013 is to have more senior women as role models.
