{"id":134899,"date":"2021-03-24T15:51:41","date_gmt":"2021-03-24T14:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=134899"},"modified":"2021-03-24T15:51:41","modified_gmt":"2021-03-24T14:51:41","slug":"prca-ethics-council-publishes-its-first-annual-perspective","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/prca-ethics-council-publishes-its-first-annual-perspective\/","title":{"rendered":"PRCA Ethics Council publishes its first Annual Perspective"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/prca-global-ethics-council-launches\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PRCA Ethics Council<\/a> has published its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flipsnack.com\/PRCAUK\/prca-ethics-council-annual-perspective-2021.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Annual Perspective<\/a> to highlight ethical challenges facing PRs across the globe ahead of this year\u2019s PRCA Virtual International Summit. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With an aim to spark reflection on purpose across the PR industry in regards to ethical practices, the free 26-page Annual Perspective features insight from 20 global leaders and is headed up by PRCA Ethics Council Chair David Gallagher FPRCA.<\/p>\n<p>Key themes of the report include:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; West vs. East divide<br \/>\n&#8211; How PR professionals can aid in tackling misinformation and protecting the truth<br \/>\n&#8211; Reimagining culture in a post-COVID world<br \/>\n&#8211; Who-to-work-for dilemmas<br \/>\n&#8211; Building trust and accountability<br \/>\n&#8211; Avoiding purpose washing<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s safe to say there\u2019s no shortage of ethical challenges facing communicators right now,\u2019 said PRCA Ethics Council Chair David Gallagher.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018With misinformation swirling, trust in institutions declining, and businesses operating in new ways, it\u2019s essential we put ethics at the front of the line. So many of us love the industry that we\u2019re in and want to see it take a lead in building a better world. There are often no easy answers when confronting ethics in the real world. But I hope the different perspectives that are so generously shared by global leaders in this report will help drive a much-needed dialogue.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Launched in May 2020, the PRCA Ethics Council has an aim to elevate ethical standards in PR and communications. It will host events, initiatives, and campaigns throughout 2021.
