{"id":135623,"date":"2021-05-26T12:40:52","date_gmt":"2021-05-26T11:40:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=135623"},"modified":"2021-05-26T12:40:52","modified_gmt":"2021-05-26T11:40:52","slug":"women-in-transport-selects-jo-field-as-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/women-in-transport-selects-jo-field-as-president\/","title":{"rendered":"Women in Transport selects Jo Field as president"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenintransport.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Women in Transport<\/a> has elected CIPR fellow Jo Field as President for a four-year term.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The not-for-profit professional membership network, which celebrates its 15th year this June, works to empower women in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/parliament-watch-infrastructure-and-rail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">transport sector<\/a> to maximise their potential and provides access to leadership training, mentoring, events and its All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG).<\/p>\n<p>JFG Communications founder and managing director Jo Field brings experience of driving equalities initiatives, including an award-winning accessibility campaign, a women\u2019s sponsorship programme and a youth panel, and a passion for addressing women\u2019s under-representation in the transport industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It is an honour to become President of Women in Transport and I would like to thank our members, Board and Chief Executive for putting their trust in me,\u2019 said Jo.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I am a passionate campaigner for gender equality and I bring this energy and expertise to the role.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It is important for PR professionals to have senior roles in any organisation to shape strategy and build advocacy for its work.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018My election as President recognises the important role that communications professionals play in the transport industry, from engaging customers and stakeholders to making the case for infrastructure and services.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I look forward to using my experience to advocate for Women in Transport and boost our connections with industry employers, parliamentarians and government to enable us to create positive change for our members and ensure we have an even greater voice on the issues that matter to us.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Prior to founding JFG Communications, Jo spent almost ten years at Transport for London, leading its stakeholder engagement team, building stakeholder support and advocacy for London\u2019s transport infrastructure.
