Despite the fact that two-thirds of the global industry\u2019s workforce are female, the majority of boardrooms are still made up of male decisionmakers. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The survey questionnaire, designed to measure the fortunes of women working in PR and comms across the globe, asked respondents about\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">their\u00a0working environments, the pressures\u00a0of\u00a0PR, barriers to leadership, the impact of\u00a0parenting,\u00a0workplace sexual harassment and\u00a0the gender pay gap.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Asked\u00a0what could help women take on more senior roles,\u00a057% of\u00a0respondents felt that remote working was\u00a0important, with\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">73%\u00a0saying\u00a0they would be more likely to\u00a0take\u00a0a job that offered flexible working (an increase from the\u00a069% in 2020).\u00a0And flexibility\u00a0is where there has been\u00a0real\u00a0evolution\u00a0over the last year\u00a0&#8211;\u00a091% of PR professionals are currently working flexibly;\u00a0most believe\u00a0that\u00a0hybrid working will continue\u00a0post-pandemic, also. 21% said they will be working\u00a0remotely full-time over the next 12 months.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Barriers to leadership positions highlighted in the Index are, perhaps unsurprisingly,\u00a0childcare\u00a0and caring\u00a0responsibilities.
