{"id":139229,"date":"2022-05-03T13:25:22","date_gmt":"2022-05-03T12:25:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=139229"},"modified":"2022-05-03T13:25:22","modified_gmt":"2022-05-03T12:25:22","slug":"ethics-in-2022-prca-publishes-annual-perspective","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/ethics-in-2022-prca-publishes-annual-perspective\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethics in 2022 \u2013 PRCA publishes Annual Perspective"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The PRCA Global Ethics Council has released an overview of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/10-pr-and-communications-trends-for-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the big trends of this year<\/a>, and the ethical issues they raise, with its 2022 Annual Perspective.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Perspective considers how PR can help navigate ethical risk for clients and businesses, as well as understanding the opportunity of emerging technology platforms.<br \/>\nEthical challenges being tackled by comms teams across the world covered in the report include those posed by the metaverse and Web3, NFTs, AI (Artificial Intelligence) and the importance of building safe online experiences for all.<\/p>\n<p>Topics in the report include:<br \/>\n&#8211; The relationships between innovation, ethics and risk management<br \/>\n&#8211; Opportunities for PR professionals to launch new ways to measure engagement in the metaverse<br \/>\n&#8211; Emerging reputational risks, including breaches of user\/consumer privacy, deepfakes, misinformation and cybercrime<br \/>\n&#8211; Requirements for the PR and communications industry to increase its knowledge on technology<\/p>\n<p>30 industry thought leaders from across the globe contributed their expertise to the examination of ethics, including The Purpose Room\u2019s Sudha Singh, Vero\u2019s Vu Quan Nguyen Masse and M&amp;C Saachi\u2019s Mike Abel.<\/p>\n<p>The 35-page report was spearheaded by PRCA Global Ethics Council co-chairs Mary Beth West, Nitin Mantri and Israel Opayemi.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The PRCA Ethics Council urges the whole of the PR industry \u2013 at every level of experience and practice \u2013 to embrace new areas of learning, awareness, and strategic consideration tied to the ethics of AI and how digital technology might be engaged in ways that potentially risk stakeholder trust and brand reputation,\u2019 said Mary Beth West.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Since crafting reputation and advancing trust stand at the core of public relations expertise, this year\u2019s PRCA Ethics Council Annual Perspective offers strategic considerations from many of the global PR industry\u2019s best minds \u2013 and the PRCA is proud to offer this publication as a free resource to cross-disciplinary consultancies, C-suites, corporate boardrooms and academia.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>PRCA Global Ethics Council co-chair Nitin Mantri added:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The times are calling for bold, brave action, and the pressure on brands to deliver is at an all-time high. Authentic, purpose-led communications is the way forward.
