Let this be the start of something. She might be someone in your family, she might not. I believe we stand on the shoulders of giants.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We\u2019re so fortunate to be born at this point, we\u2019re so fortunate to be working in this country, in the West, at this time. There are so many problems in terms of women\u2019s rights, and we happen to be here and able to advocate for our sectors.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Fifty years ago, this room would not be full.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-145622 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Speaker-3.jpg\" alt=\"Ayesha Patel \" width=\"760\" height=\"430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Speaker-3.jpg 760w, https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Speaker-3-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Speaker-3-705x399.jpg 705w, https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Speaker-3-500x283.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ayesha Patel, sector policy lead (domestic and international) at the Department for Business and Trade and judge for the <a href=\"https:\/\/tafawards.org\/judging\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TAF Awards<\/a>, paid tribute to the hard work of everyone gathered in the room:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Not only does this event, and this list, shine a light on your extraordinary leadership, but also on the job that you do in representing your industries and sectors, as well as engaging with us in Government in the most invaluable and constructive way.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018As a woman, may I also thank you for setting such a strong example of leadership, tenacity, and integrity for all of us, particularly in the most challenging circumstances and environments when the work is never, ever done. It gives me energy to be in a room with women and drive policy change.
