{"id":3491,"date":"2011-09-20T10:12:34","date_gmt":"2011-09-20T09:12:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.uk.cision.com\/?p=3491"},"modified":"2021-12-08T17:43:25","modified_gmt":"2021-12-08T16:43:25","slug":"toward-strategies-for-b2b-marketing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/toward-strategies-for-b2b-marketing\/","title":{"rendered":"Toward strategies for B2B marketing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Next week I&#8217;ll be hosting a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.b2bmarketing.net\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">B2B Marketing<\/a> webinar with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.circle-research.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Circle Research<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/andydalg\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andrew Dalgish<\/a>, when we&#8217;ll be talking about social media marketing strategies with particular regard to Circle Research&#8217;s excellent new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.circle-research.com\/2011\/marketing-magazine\/b2b-social-media-highlights-from-new-benchmarking-survey\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Social Media Benchmarking Report<\/a>. The report analyses the thoughts of B2B marketers from 274 different organisations about social media and how it currently fits within their wider marketing approach.<\/p>\n<p>According to the research, 78 per cent of respondents currently use social media in their B2B marketing activity, although only 25 per cent have a clearly defined strategy. Even within this 25 per cent there appear to be some significant gaps: only\u00a021 percent reported that they have received any training in social media.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.circle-research.com\/2011\/marketing-magazine\/b2b-social-media-highlights-from-new-benchmarking-survey\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a blog post summarising the findings<\/a>, Andrew notes that &#8220;only 21 per cent can consistently demonstrate ROI from their social media investment&#8221;. &#8220;Only&#8221;? I was surprised the figure was so high <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/tag\/roi\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">given the difficulties involved<\/a> and that somewhat foreboding &#8220;consistently&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly it&#8217;s a short jump from there to the number one challenge identified by the marketers: that of getting internal buy-in for social media projects.
