Doctor Who received hundreds of thousands of mentions on social networking sites, peaking to coincide with the BBC One show.<br \/><span><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Peter-Capaldi-250x212.png\" alt=\"Peter Capaldi Doctor Who\" width=\"250\" height=\"212\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-38248\" \/>Using Cision Social Media, we can see that the discussion was inextricably linked with the swearing spin-doctor role that made Peter Capaldi famous. Malcolm Tucker\u2019s mentions were joined by the character\u2019s favourite four-letter expletive, which has been blurred in case there are children reading this. \u2018Malcolm Tucker\u2019 is trending again this morning, with the YouTube video: \u2018<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?feature=player_embedded&#038;v=5Blf073f2Lc\" title=\"Malcolm tucker is Doctor Who!\" target=\"_blank\">Malcolm Tucker IS Dr Who!<\/a><span>\u2019 making the rounds [NSFW language, surprisingly].<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Cision\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/influencer-search\/\" title=\"Influencer Search\" target=\"_blank\">UK Influencer Search<\/a> tool reveals how widely the topic appeals and how many niche blogs can find an angle to include the story.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Political and social blog, <a href=\"http:\/\/paulburgin.blogspot.co.uk\/2013\/08\/peter-capaldi-good-choice-as-12th-doctor.html\" title=\"Mars Hill\" target=\"_blank\">Mars Hill<\/a>, published a short post saying: \u2018A Good Choice as the 12<sup>th<\/sup> Doctor!\u2019 The blog included the trailer for Peter Capaldi\u2019s breakout film Local Hero.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">No Rock and Roll Fun.com published: \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/xrrf.blogspot.co.uk\/2013\/08\/how-altered-images-and-spandau-ballet.html\" title=\"No Rock and Roll Fun\" target=\"_blank\">How Altered images and Spandau Ballet made the new Doctor Who\u2019<\/a>. The post reports that Peter Capaldi once supported Spandau Ballet on tour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Sofeminine went with: \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sofeminine.co.uk\/news-celebrities\/congratulations-pour-in-for-new-doctor-who-peter-capaldi-but-some-think-he-s-too-old-s91270.html\" title=\"Sofeminine\" target=\"_blank\">Congratulations pour in for new Doctor Who Peter Capaldi &#8211; but some think he&#8217;s too old<\/a>\u2019. Apparently Peter Capaldi will: \u2018Excite the parents (and the mums) more than the kids\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The news is still gaining coverage and is almost certainly the biggest PR stunt of the Doctor\u2019s career.
