This puts the value of the \u2018Definitive Guide to Enlightening Information\u2019 at $1.4 billion (\u00a3900m).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The deal could be seen as somewhat surprising as Vice has previously published articles such as, \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vice.com\/en_uk\/read\/heres-what-fox-news-will-say-about-obamas-trayvon-martin-comments\" title=\"Vice article\" target=\"_blank\">Here\u2019s What Fox News Will Say About Obama\u2019s Trayvon Martin Comments\u2019<\/a>, and, \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vice.com\/en_uk\/read\/the-mole-at-murdochs-evil-empire\" title=\"Vice article\" target=\"_blank\">We Found A Mole At Murdoch\u2019s Evil Empire\u2019<\/a>. However, reporters have been quick to point out a previous tweet from Rupert Murdoch in which he praised Vice:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p>Who&#8217;s heard of VICE media? That article was amended, as explained in an accompanying statement:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2018The original standfirst described Vice as a magazine. While Vice did indeed start as a magazine 20 years ago, today it can more accurately be described as a digital media and publishing group.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>This amendment points to the ambitions of Vice as it looks to use 21st Century Fox\u2019s existing global outlets to launch in new territories. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/cms\/s\/2\/e2db3cc4-0664-11e3-9bd9-00144feab7de.html#axzz2cP5KwwTG\" title=\"Vice on FT\" target=\"_blank\">FT reports<\/a> that Vice is \u2018planning an aggressive push in India through 21st Century Fox\u2019s Star\u2019. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/politicalscrapbook.net\/2013\/08\/corporate-sponsor-last-thing-vice-needs-so-murdoch-snaps-up-stake\/\" title=\"Vice on Political Scrapbook\" target=\"_blank\">Political Scrapbook<\/a> has focused on another Murdoch tweet in which someone asked if he was buying Vice, to which he replied: \u2018No way!
