Today marks the launch of Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V). Described by the BBC as one of <\/span>Britain\u2019s finest cultural exports<\/a>, GTA V has already<\/span> sold out at Amazon<\/a> and is expected to reach 25 million sales by the end of the year.<\/span><\/strong> <\/p>\n

GTA V pulls in so much interest that it generates its own information box on Google when you search for its release date:<\/p>\n

The game made headlines three days ago when Amazon breached a strict retail embargo<\/a> and shipped pre-ordered copies to a \u2018small number\u2019 of customers. While Grand Theft Auto\u2019s Scottish creator Rockstar North was reportedly investigating, it didn\u2019t comment on the matter publicly. The game also fell victim to early leaks on torrent sites<\/a>, though this doesn\u2019t seem to have affected initial sales. \u00a0<\/p>\n

This is reflected on social media where the conversation peaked alongside the official launch:
