{"id":47733,"date":"2013-11-06T10:46:35","date_gmt":"2013-11-06T09:46:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=47733"},"modified":"2013-11-06T10:46:35","modified_gmt":"2013-11-06T10:46:35","slug":"maxus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/maxus\/","title":{"rendered":"B2B brands don&#8217;t use social media effectively"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Infographic-Maxus-final.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Infographic-Maxus-final-238x600.jpg\" alt=\"INFOGRAPHIC_M_L_V2\" width=\"238\" height=\"600\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-47746\" \/><\/a>Two in three business professionals claim they want a social relationship with companies yet as many as 70% agreed that B2B brands don\u2019t know how to communicate effectively with them on social media, according to a study by <a href=\"http:\/\/maxusglobal.com\/our-story\/our-blog\/categories\/b2b\" title=\"Maxus for Business\" target=\"_blank\">Maxus for Business<\/a>, the newly launched specialist B2B arm of Maxus Global. <\/p>\n<p>The findings, indicative of the need for improved marketing content on social media sites, is based on the responses of the agency\u2019s LinkedIn audience of 500 members. <\/p>\n<p>In the study, 73% of respondents rated LinkedIn as the most trusted social media network for B2B communications while Facebook emerged as the least trusted source with only 9% considering it an appropriate communications channel. (The result is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/forrester-to-zuckerberg-facebook-is-failing-marketers\/\" title=\"Facebook\" target=\"_blank\">second blow<\/a> to Facebook\u2019s e-commerce proposition as it comes on the heels of a survey by research firm Forrester released last week which slams Facebook\u2019s marketing scheme)<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile\u00a0only 17% chose Twitter as their preferred B2B medium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other key findings from the Maxus for Business survey include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A quarter of business professionals surveyed have no or restricted social media access at work.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 23% of business professionals said that the best time to make contact with them were evenings, while 22% said first thing in the morning on a working day, followed by 16% in the afternoon and 14% at lunchtime or before working hours.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For marketers developing new content marketing strategies this may come in handy (and as somewhat surprising) \u2013 only 6-7% of respondents said they were interested in receiving whitepapers and webinars. Company news, followed by How-To guides were the most popular form of content for business professionals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 86% respondents agreed that the most sought topic of news sought by respondents was news about their company, promotions at 79% and insights by 70%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>James Bailey, head of Maxus For Business, was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedrum.com\/news\/2013\/11\/04\/70-cent-business-professionals-dont-believe-b2b-brands-know-how-effectively\" title=\"The Drum\" target=\"_blank\">quoted<\/a> on the findings saying: &#8216;Luckily for B2B marketers, this survey shows that business people are keen to hear from relevant brands.
