It also mails directly to pharmaceutical companies, buyers, wholesalers and industry\/professional representation bodies. <em>Scottish Pharmacist<\/em>\u2019s readership is estimated at 9,000.<\/p>\n<p><em>Scottish Pharmacist<\/em> was established as a sister title to <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pharmacyinfocus.co.uk\/\">Pharmacy in Focus<\/a><\/em>, after <a href=\"http:\/\/www.profilepublishing.com\/\">Profile Publishing<\/a> established a partnership with Community Pharmacy Scotland. Its initial editorial aim was to cover issues relevant to community pharmacy but soon broadened its scope to offer a more cross-sector output. It introduced the <em>Scottish Pharmacist<\/em> Ball and Awards three years ago, offering readers an annual occasion of celebration and also presenting, in 2012, 11 awards.<\/p>\n<p><em>Scottish Pharmacist <\/em>has also embraced social networking, particularly Twitter. Editor Laure James has her own freelance account (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/LaureJames\">@LaureJames<\/a>) and after harnessing the benefits of networking, established <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/ScotPharm\">@ScotPharm<\/a>. Creating a network for practitioners and readers to engage with on a regular basis can be challenging, but Laure believes the magazine\u2019s official Twitter account will help to offer a modern, interactive solution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Working relationship with PRs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The opportunities for readers and PRs are paid for transparencies and editorial space.
