Following the \u2018<\/span>Most popular media titles for PR professionals<\/a>\u2019, we present the most popular contacts on<\/span> CisionPoint<\/a> as part of our<\/span> Top 10 Top 10s<\/a> of 2013.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"CisionPointThe CisionPoint Media Database<\/a> is the most comprehensive of its kind in the world. Used predominantly by PR professionals, the Media Database lists thousands of journalists, editors, bloggers, newspapers, magazines and websites.<\/p>\n

As with the media titles, we\u2019ve measured which profile pages have been visited the most. Again, this doesn\u2019t include appearances in lists or the most searched-for titles and so shouldn\u2019t be taken as the definitive popularity list.<\/p>\n

With all that taken into consideration, here is the top 10 from 2013:<\/p>\n

    Guy Adams, feature writer at the Daily Mail<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Zoe Bishop, lifestyle editor at Bella<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Katie Williams, lifestyle editor at Hello!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Emily Miller, editor of Pure Beauty<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    Jane Collins, assistant editor and health editor at Bella<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  7. \n

    John Bingham, social affairs editor at the Daily Telegraph<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  8. \n

    Taryn Davies, fashion, beauty and health writer at Female First<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  9. \n

    Hannah Barr, features writer at Fabulous<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  10. \n

    Rebecca Jones, health editor at Yours magazine<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The top 10 is largely made up of feature writers, suggesting stronger ties between PRs and features than PRs and news. Cision\u2019s recent Social Journalism Study 2013 revealed that 27% of features journalists didn\u2019t think PRs were a trusted source, opposed to 39% of hard news journalists and 42% of investigative journalists.<\/p>\n

    What is perhaps surprising is that the list isn\u2019t full of top editors or household names. We\u2019re told again and again by journalists that good PRs take time to build relationships and target the right people \u2013 and as the majority of the top 10 are writers (rather than editors), they\u2019re clearly heeding this advice and approaching contacts who will be able to put their PR stories into words.<\/p>\n
