As the year-end approaches, it’s become as traditional a chestnuts-roasting-on-an-open-fire for list fever to sweep the social media world. Regular readers will know\u00a0Cision UK publishes weekly Top 10s<\/a> – so what could be more natural, more festive, more meta<\/em>, than to compile a list of our most successful Top 10s this year?<\/p>\n

Unlike our usual Top 10s, where we include a variety of social media and search metrics in our analysis<\/a>. the below looks simply at the traffic coming through the Cision UK website. (Our end of year internal reporting will present a rather different list, based on somewhat different, more business-y metrics<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

While the sharp end is pretty much what you’d expect, there are one or two surprises, usually the result of themed promotions<\/a> or a particularly chunky referral. It’s also worth noting the obvious advantage for those lists published earlier in the year, and that several of the more vital lists benefit from having been refreshed a few times. Oh, and that the number one, unsurprisingly, isn’t a Top 10<\/em> at all.<\/p>\n
