The first issue that was published\u00a0on 8 July in 1889, was a four page afternoon paper priced at 2 cents a copy.\u00a0Today, WSJ boasts of over 2.2 million subscribers, 12 global versions in nine languages and reporters spread across 75 countries.<\/p>\n<p>To commemorate the anniversary, The Journal has published special content that takes readers back in history and forward in time with a\u00a0reproduction of its first front page from 1889 in print, an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wsj.com\/125\/wsj-125-archive\/bIssues\" target=\"_new\">extensive archive showing how they covered many of the big stories of the past 125 years<\/a>\u00a0on its website, WSJ.com as well as\u00a0a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/public\/page\/WSJ-125-Anniversary.html\" target=\"_new\">special report, The Future of Everything<\/a>, which is\u00a0about &#8220;tomorrow&#8217;s world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In a <a title=\"Letter to readers\" href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/articles\/wsj-editor-in-chief-a-letter-to-readers-1404787773\" target=\"_blank\">letter<\/a> to readers,\u00a0Gerard Baker, editor in chief, The Wall Street Journal said: &#8216;As we mark this milestone, we rededicate ourselves to bringing you the news and analysis you rely on, however you want it delivered.
