Rohit was previously the network\u2019s Africa correspondent<\/li>\n<li>Editor of the <b>Irish Independent<\/b>, and former editor of <b>The Herald<\/b>, <b>Claire Grady<\/b> has announced that she has decided to step down from her role and is leaving the <b><a href=\"http:\/\/inmplc.com\/\">Independent News and Media<\/a> group<\/b> with immediate effect<\/li>\n<li>Two senior journalists on the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Independent<\/a> <\/strong>and London Evening Standard have been allocated new roles, the Guardian reported. Chris Blackhurst has been appointed as multi-media head of business for all the titles, and James Ashton, the current head of business, becomes executive editor<\/li>\n<li>Senior writer at <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/\">The Independent<\/a> <\/b>Archie Bland has announced via Twitter that he will be joining <b>The Guardian\u2019s<\/b> Saturday paper<\/li>\n<li><b>Lewis Deakin<\/b> has been appointed junior reporter at <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ross-gazette.co.uk\/searchresult.cfm?cat=News\">The Ross Gazette<\/a><\/b>, the publication announced via Twitter<\/li>\n<li><b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leicestermercury.co.uk\/\">Leicester Mercury<\/a><\/b> editor Richard Bettsworth has resigned after three years at the publication. He will be succeeded by Kevin Booth, the current editor of the <b>Burton Daily Mail<\/b>, who takes up his new role from 8 September<\/li>\n<li><b>Drew Cochrane<\/b> has decided to take early retirement from his post as editor of the <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.largsandmillportnews.com\/\">Largs &amp; Millport Weekly News<\/a><\/b> after 40 years at the title.
