{"id":73982,"date":"2015-02-17T14:26:54","date_gmt":"2015-02-17T13:26:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=73982"},"modified":"2015-02-17T14:26:54","modified_gmt":"2015-02-17T14:26:54","slug":"apple-remains-worlds-most-valuable-brand-lego-named-most-powerful-brand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/apple-remains-worlds-most-valuable-brand-lego-named-most-powerful-brand\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple remains world&#8217;s most valuable brand; Lego named most powerful brand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Despite industry predictions, Apple has been named the world\u2019s most valuable brand worth $128.3bn, according to the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b><a title=\"Brand Finance\" href=\"http:\/\/brandfinance.com\/news\/press_releases\/lego-overtakes-ferrari-as-the-worlds-most-powerful-brand\" target=\"_blank\">Brand Finance Global 500<\/a><\/b><\/span> report released today.<\/p>\n<p>The company has retained its top spot from last year but increased its overall brand value by 23%.<\/p>\n<p>The tech giant has been credited \u2018for its knack for using its brand to popularise and hence monetise existing technology, as it did so successfully first with the mp3 player, smart phone and later the tablet.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the success of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has set records for quarterly profits ($18bn) and company value ($710bn).<\/p>\n<p>David Haigh, Brand Finance CEO said, \u2018The Apple brand is worth US$128 billion. That value is huge not just in its own terms but also as a proportion of Apple\u2019s record-breaking corporate valuation. It goes to show how valuable brands are as business assets and how important it is to manage them well.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The list of the world\u2019s most valuable brands is dominated by tech and telecoms giants. The ranks of the top five remain unchanged from last year with Samsung at number 2, followed by Google, Microsoft and Verizon.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_73990\" style=\"width: 609px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Most-valuable-brands.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73990\" class=\"size-full wp-image-73990 \" alt=\"World's Most Valuable Brands. Source: Brand Finance<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, Lego has overtaken Ferrari as the world\u2019s most powerful brand, according to a separate list within the report.<\/p>\n<p>The title win comes on the back of the success of The Lego Movie which has grossed nearly US$500m since its release a year ago. \u2018It has helped propel Lego from a well-loved, strong brand to the World\u2019s most powerful,\u2019 according to the press release.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrari plummeted for the top spot in 2014 to ninth place this year. The report points out that even though Ferrari remains a strong brand, its failure to secure an F1 title in recent years coupled with the departure of long-time chairman Luca di Montezemolo, has rubbed some of the sheen of the brand.<\/p>\n<p>PWC came second in the list, with Red Bull, McKinsey and Unilever making up the top five.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_73991\" style=\"width: 599px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Most-powerful-brands.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73991\" class=\"size-full wp-image-73991\" alt=\"World's Most Powerful Brands. Source: Brand Finance<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The report also pegged<strong> <\/strong>Twitter as the fastest growing brand after almost tripling its brand value in a year, from $1.5 billion in early 2014 to $4.4 billion now.
