This will be interesting for all kinds of reasons, but how successful can the \u2018out\u2019 campaign be if its leaders won\u2019t\u00a0form a united front?<\/p>\n<p>Brexit groups have breathed\u00a0a sigh of relief after Boris Johnson announced on Sunday that he will be \u2019\u2019<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.spectator.co.uk\/2016\/02\/boris-johnson-i-will-be-advocating-vote-leave-or-whatever-the-team-is-called\/\">advocating Vote Leave, or whatever the team is called<\/a>\u2019\u2019. So while he won\u2019t be joining the same campaign team as Farage and Galloway, he will be working towards the same goal. A recent poll estimates that Boris could add <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.co.uk\/2016\/02\/21\/boris-johnson-warned-by-d_n_9284560.html\">15% to the Brexit vote<\/a>, so he acts as a good buffer to Galloway and Farage\u2019s unpopularity in certain circles. Despite this, the political make-up of the \u2018out\u2019 campaign raises some interesting questions.<\/p>\n<p>How will it unify its message, and by default its supporters, with such a disparate group leading it? The \u2018in\u2019 campaign is filled with some fairly\u00a0divergent, divisive individuals but it\u2019s managed to avoid the public bickering that we\u2019ve seen from the Brexit groups. This has become all the more significant since Johnson reiterated that he won\u2019t be sharing platforms with George Galloway and Nigel Farage.<\/p>\n<p>A good comparison to this situation is the AV referendum in 2011, when Ed Miliband refused to share a stage with his fellow \u2018yes\u2019 campaigner Nick Clegg. In the wake of the tuition fee debacle, it seemed like a good idea for Miliband to put as much distance between himself and Clegg as possible. In reality, it left the \u2018yes\u2019 campaign without strong leadership or a cohesive message.
