Yet there is further reason to explore the potential of partnerships for achieving charitable goals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nmk.co.uk\/articles\/2184\">Web users turn to Google before their friends for advice<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CMRLee\">@CMRLee<\/a> via <a href=\"http:\/\/nmk.co.uk\">New Media Knowledge<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In a world of consumers connected by social media, you would probably expect people to consult their friends on Facebook or Twitter followers before they make a purchase, but apparently search engine Google is by far the preferred choice. This is the finding of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cloudninepr.com\/social-media\/survey-consumers-choose-google-ahead-of-their-friends\">new study<\/a> from UK-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cloudninepr.com\/\">technology PR agency CloudNine PR<\/a>. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/econsultancy.com\/uk\/blog\/10538-48-of-consumers-would-respond-to-offers-via-sms\">48% of consumers would respond to offers via SMS<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DavidMoth\">@davidmoth<\/a> via <a href=\"http:\/\/econsultancy.com\">Econsultancy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A further 49% claim that they would be quite or highly likely to opt in to join a text offer list.<\/p>\n<p>The findings come from a survey of 1,368 consumers by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.textmarketer.co.uk\/\">Text Marketer<\/a>, which also found that 68% of people would be open to receiving special offers via text message.<\/p>\n<p>In reality these numbers seem quite high as text spam can be a major irritation, and it\u2019s important to bear in mind that statistics that predict future behaviour should be treated with caution.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/media\/greenslade\/2012\/aug\/15\/wikileaks-londonschoolofeconomics\">Wikileaks may seem like history but it will lead to era of networked news<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GreensladeR\">@GreensladeR<\/a> via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/\">Guardian<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Remember <a title=\"More from guardian.co.uk on WikiLeaks\" href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/media\/wikileaks\">Wikileaks<\/a> &#8211; the phenomenon that was going to change journalism as we know it?
