{"id":93376,"date":"2016-10-27T10:18:16","date_gmt":"2016-10-27T10:18:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=93376"},"modified":"2016-12-22T17:26:05","modified_gmt":"2016-12-22T17:26:05","slug":"itv-blames-brexit-for-120-job-losses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/itv-blames-brexit-for-120-job-losses\/","title":{"rendered":"ITV blames Brexit for 120 Job Losses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ITV is looking to make \u00a325 million in savings next year to counterbalance a decline in advertising revenues which the broadcaster is blaming on \u201cpolitical and economic uncertainty\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/business\/2016\/oct\/24\/itv-cuts-120-jobs-brexit-uncertainty-uk-television-advertising-market\" target=\"_blank\">media reports<\/a><\/u>, TV advertising is facing its worst year since 2009 with revenues set to decline by 2 percent.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the savings process, ITV is planning to reduce its workforce by 120 people. The broadcaster currently employs 3,000 staff in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the job losses, an ITV spokesperson <u>told journalists<\/u>: \u201cAt a time of political and economic uncertainty in our key markets, it\u2019s important that we are in the strongest possible position to continue to invest in our strategy, and to meet any challenges and opportunities ahead, as we continue to grow a successful business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Because of continuing political uncertainty in the UK market and the financial impact it has on advertising market, the ITV is looking bolster its overseas operations.<\/p>\n<p>The UK market currently accounts for 85 percent of the broadcasters revenues.
