Nafisah Atcha is a\u00a0blogger and YouTube content creator based in Manchester who uses her blog Bamblings Of Naffy<\/a> to cover everything from her <\/span>favourite beauty products and new fashion trends to her love of books. In this spotlight\u00a0<\/strong>Nafisah chats to us about why it was a natural progression to start vlogging, why she believes blogging is more becoming more visual, and why she hopes her blog will break down stereotypes of Muslim\u00a0women.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

How did you get into blogging?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I started blogging when I finished university and finding my way. I have always had a passion for writing so a blog seemed like a natural outlet for me creatively.<\/p>\n

Why should people read your blog?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I like offering a different perspective on things, be in beauty products or visiting a place to eat. My content is also quite honest and raw so if you like that combination you’re on the right blog.<\/p>\n

Why did you start vlogging?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I was watching YouTube videos for a long time before I made the jump to vlogging. It just seemed like a natural progression from the blog and the timing felt right.<\/p>\n

Do you see blogging becoming more visual in the future?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>I think words will always be a vital and integral part of blogs, however I do believe visuals to go with the words is becoming more and more relevant.<\/p>\n

You work in marketing and social media. How has this impacted your second career as a blogger and vlogger?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>It is actually the other way around as I was blogging before I started working in marketing. I don’t think I would have gotten the chance to enter that world without my blog and YouTube channel.
\nBlogging has definately had an impact on what I want to do as a career and presented me with opportunities I didn’t think would be possible. For instance, I would not have considered a career in the digital marketing space until I started my blog. Now it is all I can dream of doing.<\/p>\n

On your blog you write about your everyday life, covering everything from beauty, fashion, travel, and lifestyle. Do you think that your blog challenges some of the stereotypes about the lives that Muslim women lead in this country?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I would like to think so. There is a lot of negative press surrounding the community and also the perception of how women are treated in Islam. I like to think my blog and YouTube channel show that I am just an ordinary young woman like any other navigating her way through her twenties.<\/p>\n

What do you hope people will take away from your blog and vlogs?\u00a0<\/strong>Happiness and guidance. There is a certain happiness and comfort I receive from reading blogs and watching YouTube videos. Knowing that others can gain these feelings from the content I produce is the greatest feeling in the world.<\/p>\n

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a blog?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Just do it. As clich\u00e9d as that may sound that’s the best advice I could give. Your niche, your style and all the little bits are there to figure out along the way.<\/p>\n

How do you use social media to promote and share content? What are the challenges?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I use social media to let people know when they can expect a new video or blogpost. I also found it to be a great way to interact with other bloggers and my audience directly.\u00a0The main challenge would be switch off. I love it so much, switching off and putting my phone away can sometimes be hard!<\/p>\n

What has been your blogging highlight?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>A blogging highlight would be when I get stopped occasionally and people say they love my content.<\/p>\n

What will be big in your blogosphere in the coming months?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I love changing things up and 2017 will be no different. There will still be an emphasis on beauty and fashion along with a lot more self-care and personal post. That is all I am going to say for now.
