The election will take place in <strong>May 2017.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Nickie Aiken\u00a0<\/strong>has been appointed by the Conservative majority group as its leader on\u00a0<strong>Westminster City Council.\u00a0<\/strong>Subject to a full council vote on\u00a0<strong>25th January\u00a0<\/strong>she will become the next Leader of the council.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Liz Redfern,\u00a0<\/strong>Leader of North Lincolnshire Council has announced she will step down from the role in the New Year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Joanne Roney\u00a0<\/strong>has been chosen as the next Chief Executive of <strong>Manchester Council,\u00a0<\/strong>subject to approval from the councillors on <strong>14th December<\/strong>. He was elected by acclamation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eleonora Forenza<\/strong> MEP has been selected by the <strong>European United Left &#8211; Nordic Green Left<\/strong> (GUE\/NGL) as its candidate for the presidency of the European Parliament.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>European People&#8217;s Party <\/strong>(EPP)\u00a0will announce their candidate for Presidency on 13th December.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alessandra Mussolini\u00a0<\/strong>MEP has joined the Non-Attached members in the Parliament, leaving the EPP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Party News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>UK Independence Party<\/strong> is to hold talks\u00a0on the issue of whether <strong>Nathan Gill<\/strong> has to give up on of his seats.
