{"id":98369,"date":"2017-01-09T14:01:53","date_gmt":"2017-01-09T14:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=98369"},"modified":"2017-01-09T14:01:53","modified_gmt":"2017-01-09T14:01:53","slug":"make-up-sales-will-reach-a-record-1bn-thanks-to-fashion-bloggers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/make-up-sales-will-reach-a-record-1bn-thanks-to-fashion-bloggers\/","title":{"rendered":"Make-up Sales will reach a record \u00a31bn thanks to fashion bloggers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>According to new research by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nielsen.com\/uk\/en.html\" target=\"_blank\">Nielsen<\/a>, in 2016 cosmetic sales were up more than a \u00a31 million a week, with sales of make-up hitting a high of \u00a3887 million last\u00a0year<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It is believed that cut-price brands like Maybelline, Makeup Revolution and Sleek (aimed at teens and younger millennial women) are soaring in popularity largely due to\u00a0vloggers\u00a0like Zoella and Tanya Burr,\u00a0who both launched their own ranges of beauty products on the high street last year.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester-based beauty and lifestyle blogger and vlogger <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bamblingsofnaffy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nafisah Atcha<\/a>, says that a<strong>s\u00a0<\/strong>someone who consumes content by both Zoella and Tanya Burr, she can see how their influence can generate such sales.<\/p>\n<p>She said: &#8220;90% of my makeup collection stems from other content creators and their influence&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nO79lJQUacM?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It is estimated that one in two women aged 16 to 30 watch make-up vlogs, which is hugely contributing to beauty\u00a0vloggers becoming highly influential, rivaling traditional\u00a0commercial advertisers.<\/p>\n<p>However, beauty and fashion blogger <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radhikarecommends.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Radhika Sharma<\/a> says that vloggers are already more influential in selling beauty products than traditional advertising<b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>She said: &#8220;Key brands have picked up on this and what we are seeing now is a merge between the industries. Big brands have featured influencers on big advertising television commercials and have chosen to feature them as ambassadors instead of someone with a celebrity status&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jP4AI855Z2U?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Radhika believes that the rise of social media influencers shows that consumers trust the opinions of the vloggers, which reflects the growing popularity of the industry.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I definitely think that more vloggers will launch their own beauty products in 2017. It&#8217;s great because they know what their viewers and audience like, so they can launch products that will be in demand. So I think the influence of bloggers and vloggers in selling beauty products will continue to grow.
