{"id":99109,"date":"2017-01-19T14:10:35","date_gmt":"2017-01-19T14:10:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/?p=99109"},"modified":"2017-01-19T14:13:12","modified_gmt":"2017-01-19T14:13:12","slug":"trump-enters-the-twilight-zone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/blog\/trump-enters-the-twilight-zone\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump enters The Twilight Zone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>It\u2019s not often that the work of a humble TV reviewer from a Sunday broadsheet hits the headlines and goes viral \u2013 but we are living in strange times.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sunday-Herald-TV-e1484567871339.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-99112 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sunday-Herald-TV-e1484567871339.jpg\" alt=\"Sunday-Herald-TV-e1484567871339\" width=\"250\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sunday-Herald-TV-e1484567871339.jpg 454w, https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sunday-Herald-TV-e1484567871339-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.vuelio.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sunday-Herald-TV-e1484567871339-450x600.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Damien Love, a TV reviewer for the Scottish-based Sunday Herald, created quite a social media stir over the weekend with his tongue-in-cheek preview of President-Elect Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration on Friday which he suggests is a new episode of sci-fi TV series The Twilight Zone.<\/p>\n<p>Love plays with the fact that many sci-fi writers have toyed with alternative history stories such as the Nazi\u2019s winning World War II \u2013 but this new episode offers an alternative present in which Trump becomes US President.<\/p>\n<p>Love describes Trumps forthcoming presidency as a \u201chuge interactive realty reality project, which will unfold on TV, in the press, and on Twitter over the next four years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Love concludes his short piece by saying: \u201cIt\u2019s a flawed piece, but a disturbing glimpse of the horrors we could stumble into, if we\u2019re not careful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neil Mackay, editor of The Herald wants to find out if The Donald has a sense of humour and has asked the \u201cgood people of the world\u201d to make sure he sees Love\u2019s piece.<\/p>\n<p>Mackay <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk\/2017\/news\/sunday-newspapers-trump-preview-wins-worldwide-acclaim\/\" target=\"_blank\"><u>told journalists<\/u><\/a>: \u201cDamien is one of the best TV critics in the business.
