High profile social media influencers such as Hailey Baldwin, Kendall Jenner, Iris Apfel, Vogue Williams and Karlie Klossas\u00a0made up some of the biggest celebrity endorsements of 2016.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The report, which was conducted by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.celebrityintelligence.com\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Celebrity Intelligence<\/a> found that social media influencers, many of whom have millions of followers are now contending with more traditional celebrities to be brand endorsers. The arrival of the report highlights how brands are increasingly\u00a0targeting social media influencers to work on commercial campaigns. And it makes sense. YouTube stars like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/j1mmyb0bba\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jim Chapman<\/a> and fashion vlogger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/pixi2woo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tanya Burr<\/a>\u00a0who also happen to be a couple, have millions of followers online, which is why brands like Mulberry and charities like Stand Up To Cancer are now looking beyond traditional celebrities to sell their products and services.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div   class='hr hr-short hr-center   avia-builder-el-0  el_before_av_hr  avia-builder-el-first '><span class='hr-inner ' ><span class='hr-inner-style'><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ySPMxPEN9dE?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div   class='hr hr-short hr-center   avia-builder-el-1  el_after_av_hr  el_before_av_hr '><span class='hr-inner ' ><span class='hr-inner-style'><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0\u201cIt is evident from the list that 2016 has seen more social media influencers contending with traditional celebrities for endorsement opportunities. This trend is likely to intensify in the year ahead with social media specific campaigns and promotions becoming more important for brands and marketers,\u201d says Sarah Mawson, head of celebrity at Marketing Week\u2019s sister brand Celebrity Intelligence.\u00a0In 2017 we will see this trend intensify with brands and marketers. He said:\u00a0\u201cthings are changing rapidly. Expect brands to be more savvy about who they use in 2017. There will be more of a mix in the type of celebrity used.
