You can hate it, you can love it, you can be disappointed by it or you can only care just about enough to make easy jokes about its silly name, but one thing is for certain: you’ll definitely talk about it.
The hype surrounding Apple’s latest gadget reached such gargantuan proportions that it eclipsed matters of ordinarily higher importance, such as the State of the Union address by Barack Obama and the humanitarian crisis in Haiti. Even common words such as “love”, which are normally used as part of everyday’s language in many blogs and tweets, did not receive as many mentions as “iPad” on the fateful days of January 27 and 28.
Some analysts even put the number of Tweets referencing the iPad in one way or another over the 2 million mark. Even God (whose trendline suspiciously mirrors Obama’s) had to admit defeat to the attention grabbing iPad.
