Premium car marketplace PistonHeads has appointed Rain Communications to handle its press and publicity.
Rain, an independent agency that specialises in news, features and content generation, has been briefed to launch the brand to premium consumer and lifestyle media, driving brand profiles and capitalising on the brand’s events currently held across the UK and Europe. A specific strand of the communications plan involves a series of live initiatives, involving brand partnerships and immersive consumer experiences.
The account will be headed by senior asssociate director Fiona O’Rorke and junior account manager Scarlett Philps.
Established in London in 1999, PistonHeads is run by executive director Lee Williams and brand manager Paul Garlick. With over 90,000 vehicles in trading at one time and with over 5 million monthly unique users, the site is the largest motoring community in Europe and amongst the top four social networks in the UK after Twitter, Facebook and at par with Mumsnet.
PistonHeads has acquired a highly engaged, affluent audience of male professionals, who rely on the site as a trusted and revered culture and news source.
