Men’s Lifestyle Guide will be featured in this week’s Media Updates. Cision spoke to one of the authors, Alex, who explained perseverance, the importance of social media and putting a modern twist on blogging. Men’s Lifestyle Guide can be found on Twitter @MensLifestyleUK.
Why should people read your blog?
Men’s Lifestyle Guide is a specialist lifestyle blog for the modern man. Specialising in multiple industries, we have a team of editors working in a number of areas including fashion, entertainment, watches, technology, and men’s lifestyle as a whole. Established for approximately 18 months, we’ve steadily grown in popularity, and gained backing from many great brands in the UK and worldwide.
What makes your blog different?
Here at Men’s Lifestyle Guide we put our own modern twist on blogging. We make the majority of our blog posts fun, interactive and specific for our target audience. Having a small but dedicated social following, not only do we gain exposure online via our website, our social media profile makes communicating with people effortless.
What’s your favourite blog and why?
Ask Men, it’s the inspiration behind making this blog, and they certainly put their own unique twist on the articles they produce.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a blog?
Perseverance, hard work and dedication. It took approximately 6 – 12 months before Men’s Lifestyle Guide was gaining recognition from the online community and PR agencies alike.
How does a good PR work with you?
The majority of PR agencies approach Men’s Lifestyle Guide to review products and services their clients offer. In our experience a good PR agency would provide product samples, press releases and quality images to help supplement the review.
What do PRs do that’s bad?
When they are unable to send out product samples but require a detailed review of the product. Stringent deadlines for reviews and lack of high quality press releases and images.
92% of UK journalists are on Twitter, how important is it to bloggers?
Extremely important, it helps bloggers and PR agencies connect with each other online, and is a further avenue to increase your online exposure. Despite social media being in its infancy, with regards to the internet as a whole, it’s certainly a huge factor in blogging on Men’s Lifestyle Guide.
