Vuelio uses a proprietary algorithm to create these rankings, based on topic-related content in blogs on its system – you can read more about the process here. Our research team actively seeks out new blogs and bloggers for inclusion, but if you think we’ve missed someone, please get in touch to let us know.
Our ranking of UK interior design blogs has undergone its own redesign for 2024, with a new number one. Congratulations to Jen Stanbrook’s Love Chic Living, which moves up a place to the top spot. Aiming to inspire her audience with ‘achievable home decor ideas, tips, and makeovers’, this interiors writer and blogger covers pretty much every room you could possibly have in your living space, as well as the outdoors. And for what tools you’ll need to make your chic living dream a reality, check out the reviews section.
Another blog moving up in this year’s ranking update is Little Big Bell, where Geraldine Tan is busy ‘curating and promoting new talents and trends in the world of design and decor’. Explore ideas for interiors – even the hallway – as well as general design topics including lighting and storage solutions. Those who just want to have a sneaky look at Geraldine’s own home decor choices can scroll through pics of her picks for the living room and how she has used the ‘red theory’ TikTok trend throughout her home.
Up from number 5 is Sophie Robinson – a familiar face for those of you who watch interior programmes like DIY SOS, Dream Home Makeovers, and the Great Interior Design Challenge. Here you can find what she’s been loving over the last month (for March – getting the windows open and finding new people to follow on Insta for inspo) as well as help with the basics of better home design. Get help with picking a sofa, how to create a mood board, and creating maximalist table settings for dinner parties with friends.
4. Cate St Hill
Sticking at number 4 is Cate St Hill with her eponymous blog. This writer, stylist, and consultant originally launched her blog in 2011 and shares ‘simple design for everyday living’. Curated with ‘meaning, honesty, and intention’, Cate’s suggestions on the blog focus on sustainable design that is built to last. If this sounds like your style, filter through the On My Radar series for new interior finds, as well as The CSH edit. In with Cate right now – textured throws, modular sofas, and cosy armchairs.
Moving up from the sixth spot is These Four Walls, featuring Bristol-based stylist, photographer, and writer Abi’s suggestions for ‘minimalism, muted colours and timeless, considered design’. Underpinned by the belief that quality interior planning is about wellbeing as well as the aesthetics, this blog advocates for ‘slow, considered’ design and looks beyond the trends. Find how to create minimalist outdoor areas, which scented candles to bring the outside indoors with you, and new design finds for this month.
Last year’s number 8 blogger Stacey Sheppard is back in the ranking with The Design Sheppard, ‘rounding up the very best in interior design today’. Flock on over to find out what this Dartmouth-based freelance writer recommends – ‘from furniture, lighting, and flooring to kitchens, bathrooms and wallcoverings, you name it, and I’ll be bleating on about it here’. With experience on outlets including Designer Kitchen & Bathroom, follow Stacey for inspirational finds.
Organise my house – not a request for help, but the title of our first new entry for 2024. Blogger Chrissy launched Organise My House in 2010 with the aim to help others make their home their ‘safe place’, in the same way her own homestead helps her get the most out of life. ‘I believe that your home is key to a more enjoyable life,’ says Chrissy. ‘Not because of the “stuff” in it, but for the sense of peace that comes from having your home set up to work for you really well’. Make note of tips for creating more storage, common layout mistakes to avoid, and much more.
We also welcome Your DIY Family to the ranking for 2024, where Nomita shows fellow fans of ‘warm minimal Scandinavian interiors’ how to create cosy, yet clutter-free homes. With her own home ‘100% Scandi inspired’ and a work in progress, Nomita’s shares her learnings including DIY ideas big and small, ways to declutter and organise, as well as how to style your home. Recent tips from the blog – getting started with your decluttering project without feeling overwhelmed, and ways to utilise your wall space.
Another welcome back to the Fresh Design Blog team, featuring freelance home, interiors, and property writer Rachel Newcombe. Launched in 2009, this blog’s mix of ‘shopping and interiors addicts’ are on the lookout for ways to decorate homes on a budget, and are busy sharing bargain buys alongside more aspirational ideas. Dip into content split by Decorating, Furniture, Home Accessories, and Interior Ideas topics to find the kitchen trends of 2024, the best plants for new homes, and guides to cooling and heating systems for every season.
We finish this year’s ranking with another returning blog – Melanie Lissack Interiors. Started in 2016 as a way to document her own DIYing and designing around the home, Melanie’s blog has evolved to cover everything she finds exciting about decor. ‘My blog is less of a “how to” and more of a “I gave this a try – this is how it went”,’ she explains. Looking for inspiration and encouragement? Dip into this blog’s simple tips, design ideas, and pointers on which tools you’ll need in your kit to get started.
