Vuelio uses a proprietary algorithm to create these rankings, based on topic-related content in blogs on its system – you can read more about the process here. Our research team actively seeks out new blogs and bloggers for inclusion, but if you think we’ve missed someone, please get in touch to let us know.
Blogger Bintu’s Recipes From A Pantry is top shelf for another year in our ranking of food blog faves in the UK. Food fans looking for ‘exciting colours, flavours and spices’ can find everything they need here in the library filled with hundreds of recipes. For something easy, dip into the Instant Pot Recipes and Air Fryer Recipes sections – recent meals shared on the blog include Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Legs, Air Fryer Fish and Chips, and Instant Pot Potato Salad. Need a drink to go with that? Give Bintu’s Easy Instant Pot Iced Coffee Concentrate a try.
Moving up a spot in our ranking this year is Dan Toombs, AKA The Curry Guy, who shares recipes for British Indian Restaurant food for making, and enjoying, at home. For when budgets are tight, or you just want to try recreating what you’ve always ordered in, this blog covers the basics – one pan Indian restaurant curries, Chicken Tikka Masala, takeout-style sauces, sticky rice – as well as the more advanced. Want even more ideas for future meals? Check out Dan’s book ‘The Curry Guy Bible’.
Need help with staying healthy and happy, and want to handle the hungry thing with something hearty? Dannii at Hungry Healthy Happy is here. Find ‘Family friendly recipes with a healthy twist’ while the kids are off school – or just for yourself – with ideas for salads (aubergine, watercress, asparagus, or halloumi), comforting slow cooker and microwave meals like rice pudding, jacket potatoes, and cheesy chips, and low-sugar bakes for desert. Chocolate chia pudding, or healthy banana oat cookies? Check what you have in the cupboard and give them a go.
Moving up the list is Nicky and her husband Chris at Kitchen Sanctuary, providing an online space of safety filled with ‘delicious family-friendly food’ and ‘easy to follow’ tutorials. With an aim to inspire readers to create their own fantastic food for the family every day, Nicky treats Kitchen Sanctuary as her cookbook, only sharing meals that her brood actually eat themselves. Perfect for the summer holidays – whatever the weather brings – honey garlic chicken skewers, easy pasta salad, and the ultimate double cheeseburger.
Also featuring in our Baking blog top 10 is Jane’s Patisserie, where food writer and photographer Jane Dunn posts sweets and savouries that can be baked at home. ‘My goal with this blog is to give you the fun, laughter, confidence and knowledge to bake and cook whatever you fancy,’ says Jane. Latest recipes you might fancy include lentil chickpea curry, battenberg cheesecake, creamy garlic chicken, peanut butter brownies, and airfryer blondies (yes, you really can make blondies in the airfryer – try it out).
6. Pinch of Nom
Offering plenty more than just a pinch of inspiration for your next nom is Pinch of Nom, where Kay, Kate and the team have been blogging since 2016. Here you can find ‘tried and tested slimming recipes and helpful information’ in a choice of formats – there are also books and a podcast alongside the blog – as well as a gallery section to drool over. For enjoying your food while keeping healthy, the Pinch of Nom team have slimming essentials to keep stocked alongside easy pasta recipes, and how to eat well on the go.
7. Becky Excell
Still excelling at this baking and blogging business is Becky Excell (who also happens to feature in our Baking blog ranking). Inspired by years of missing out on her favourite foods while on a gluten-free diet, Becky decided to start sharing recipes for beautiful bakes. With an aim to ensure that everyone’s gluten-free journey is ‘plain from the beginning’, this blog has survival guides on prepping your kitchen, sourcing what you need, how to eat out safely, and saving money – just for starters.
Plant-based people need look no further, as Sandhya’s Kitchen has you covered. Another blogger you’ll know about already if you checked out our baking ranking, Sandhya shares meal ideas perfect for both vegetarian and vegan readers – and you don’t even have to have an oven in the kitchen. Or even a kitchen. Scroll through what’s on offer in the Instant Pot, Airfryer Recipes and Recipe Index section when planning your next plate. Recent recs – air fryer breakfast potatoes, air fryer roasted cauliflower and yogurt garlic sauce for the side.
‘Food and travel from home and abroad’ is what blogger, recipe developer, food stylist and freelance food and travel writer Karen Burns-Booth serves up at Lavender and Lovage. If you’ve got kids who are missing being at school right now (it’s a long shot, we know) – or at least missing the better school dinners – Karen’s latest posts cover how you can recreate it at home with retro school dinner recipes including cheese flan and chips, chocolate sponge and custard, and jam tart.
We finish our update of the top 10 UK food blogs with a new entry – That Girl Cooks Healthy, where blogger Charla is sharing ‘all things gluten and dairy free’. ‘I also make it my mission to showcase modern and traditional Caribbean recipes with emphasis being on healthy, where possible,’ says Charla. ‘What are you waiting for, let’s get cooking!’ Some recipes popular with her readers – gluten free Jamaican boiled dumplings, curry jackfruit run down, mashed sweet plantains, coconut drops, and vegan caribbean curry. That might not all fit on one plate, though…
